Palm kernel oil (adin dudu) popularly called among the Yorubas is obtained from gently roasted palm kernel until the oil seeps out. Palm kernel oil was traditionally harvested in the forests and savannah region of Africa, where it is been utilized for hair and scalp treatments and other medicinal purposes. It is dark brown coloured and has a nutty smell.
